March happenings.

March 3rd, 2011

I am currently blogging in my new room. Nope, not in Alaska! I switched different rooms in the house and my sis-in-law Jacky took over mine, so I moved just next door…but it’s bigger, so yay! I’m not a very big fan of rearranging furniture and remodeling rooms and my husband LOVES it, so we’ll see how he likes it when he comes home. Chances are, he’ll probably want to make a few changes. Until he’s home (around 3 weeks!!!) I’ll just enjoy it the way it is. I’m actually quite proud of the way I set it up. Maybe I’ll take some pictures.

It’s looking like for a little while I’ll be posting mostly “What I wore” photos. Mostly because I don’t really have any other pictures to post. You would think that with this new camera I would be going out and taking photos left and right. Well, I have…but only of my outfits. I haven’t really gone anywhere special lately. But things are going to start getting busier at the end of this week when I go on yet another road trip back up North. I’m going with the family to a Matthew West concert! After that, I decided to spend time in my hometown with my newly engaged best friend Ashley and my other bestie Taryne to help with some wedding plans. Then before I know it, my handsome man will be home!

As most of you remember, I went to Texas to see him for his graduation weekend and what an amazing weekend it was. But, he had curfews and had to be back at the base at 6-8pm every night so I made sure to cherish it, but it didn’t quite feel like we were reunited fully. When he comes home, it’ll be the first time we can be together and I won’t have to see him off at the end of the day. It’s been almost 5 months that we haven’t been living together. Can you believe that? I’m gonna have to give myself a big pat on the back for that. And him too, of course! Words cannot express how excited I am for us to reunite and to not have to count down until we have to say goodbye again. (Until deployment rears it’s ugly head) I miss him SO much.

So other than an outfit post, I’m writing this post to announce that I’ll soon be starting a blogger of the month series! I’m so excited about this and although my blog is small and personal and I sometimes struggle with putting myself out there, I’m looking forward to getting in touch with some of you and other bloggers and hopefully some ladies will participate! I would also like to get into guest posting too eventually, but for now I’ll start with interviewing bloggers. My first thought was to try focusing on ladies who will be willing to answer questions about young marriages…their own marriage, their opinion on marrying young, and so forth. BUT, I also follow a few mommy blogs so I’d like to go in that direction. And it’s pretty obvious that I like clothes, so I’ll be getting in touch with fashion bloggers as well. I decided to just keep it broad. I figured it would be fun to interview about different topics that more of you can relate to! A dear friend of mine, who happens to be one of my favorite bloggers is willing to be interviewed so my first blogger of the month post is already on it’s way! So excited, guys! If any of you are interested, let me know and I would love to talk interviewing you!

brooke- i’m beyond excited. i know military wives always say not to count down, but counting down makes it all the more exciting, if you ask me. and i will totally get in contact with you soon! haha you’re right, interviewing you would be like killing two birds with one stone. except i really like birds so i wouldn’t do that.

sophie- i got pretty used to it already, i think. i’m sure a deployment will have a totally different feel to it, though. i’m still new to this life so i’m learning as i go :)

Oh goodness, I love your outfit! Having been separated from my husband through months of deployment, I feel your pain & have such a strong respect for you! We were only dating, so I can only imagine what a journey it must be to go through this while married. You two are an amazing couple! Have fun planning the wedding & hooray for your mister almost being home!
I’d love to take part in the blogger series. We married at twenty, so we too have the young marriage thing going on.

I love your blog, i’ve had a chance to look through it today and wow! I have so much respect for you. I just don’t know if I could do the whole long distance being married( i mean i do, just not to your extent!).
I think the interviewing is brilliant. I’d be up for an interview one day if you need someone, just give me 2 more months until I get married! We’ll be venturing to the amazon for 2 months so I might have some cool stories to share. :)

Hey! I just recently discovered your blog from google. I was actually on a mad search to find where the bag was from lol! I still have trouble finding it though. Would you happen to know the brand of the bag or its make? It would be extremely helpful because I feel like I’ve been glued to this computer trying to find it! haha
