Leaving on a Jet Plane…

picture taken and edited by Jhen Stark

The next time I blog, I will be blogging to you straight from Anchorage, Alaska! I can’t believe how fast time flew by in a span of 10 days. Please keep Jimmy and I in your prayers/thoughts for a safe flight(s) within the next few hours (I get uneasy and jittery on planes) and smooth travelling. The time has come to say goodbye to sunny Southern California and say hello to snow, hours of daylight and darkness, and definitely a new adventure.

There are so many things and people I’m going to miss. Starting with family. I’m going to miss my mother-in-law’s selflessness and wise words when I’m caught in a bind, my father-in-law’s teasing and stealing food off my plate, spontaneous photography adventures with my sister-in-law Jhen and talking in blog language, My brother-in-law Jon who NEVER fails to crack me up and has perfected timing for “Thats what she said” jokes, shopping trips with my sister-in-law Jacky and her voice of reason (mostly when it came to purchases, but so many other things too) and last but definitely not least…my sweet niece, baby Josselyn. The little girl who could instantly cheer me up during all those times when I was missing her uncle. I know that if it weren’t for her, it would have been much harder to get through these last few months. As much as leaving everyone is hard to think about, tears well up in my eyes within seconds when I think about saying goodbye to her.

But I’m certainly not intending for this to be a sad post. Bittersweet, absolutely….but my heart is SO full and the timing is so right for us to finally leave the nest my in-laws have so graciously opened up to us and begin making our own. God has been so good to us this past year and for a while I wasn’t able to see that. Oh my, so much has changed. We are so blessed. SO blessed!

Be back soon!

If you’re going to San Francisco…

K, I’m not gonna sing the rest of the song cause I’m pretty sure you all know it. Anyway, these were taken a few weeks ago when I traveled to Stockton with family to visit my father-in-law. We took a day trip to San Fran and spent most of it around the Fisherman’s Wharf and the Golden Gate Park and took photos. It was my first time up north and I loved it. I hope to see more of San Fran one day. The drive and scenery was gorgeous. Yeah, definitely won’t mind going back.

And lastly, what I wore!

I apologize again for another lengthy post to hog up your feed. Sometimes I have a very hard time choosing photos to limit and I just want to post them all!

Things are good at the moment, and it looks like I’ll be a pretty busy lady until my husband comes home with a few road trips and possibly a visit to my hometown. Which should help, because I’m missing him like crazy. Thank God for Skype!

This was from last weekend (we only get the weekends to Skype) and he was showing me his new haircut. What a handsome man he is. How did I get so lucky?

Ok, I’ll stop. That’s it for now, I’m actually awaiting a Skype date with him at the moment =) Have a great weekend, everyone!

A belated V-day post.

Sunday, February 20th, 2011

I loved reading all of your Valentine’s days posts and seeing pictures of the fun things you all did! Naturally, being away from my husband this V-day was a bit hard, but I did go on an awesome girl’s date with my sis-in-law where we shopped and got dinner. I bought myself some makeup at Sephora and told the husband that that was his gift to me, not knowing that he had already planned on getting me something and had been planning/saving up for it for months now. When he revealed what his gift was and when I received it in the mail two days later, saying that I was ecstatic might be an understatement…

A new camera! A Nikon D90, to be exact. He got the package with a camera case, SD card, and a 70-300 mm lens. Holy canoli, the thing is MASSIVE. I was super surprised and not expecting it at all. I have had my D50 for about 6 years now and while it captured some great memories, truth be told, it was definitely time for a new one. The flash on it was broken, my kit lens was half-broken, ect. I will own up to my mistakes and say that I didn’t take as good care of it as I should have but hey, lesson learned. I am definitely going to be more careful and considerate of this one! Not gonna lie, it was a pretty big purchase. However, it’s going to last us for so long and is perfect to document our move and our new life in AK, for our little family of two that will one day expand. I am thrilled and excited to learn about this camera and how to use it. So here are the pictures I’ve taken with it so far. Most of them consist of my beautiful niece Josselyn because she’s the most photogenic human being I know and also because she is way too much fun to play with.

And some fun with myself (There’s no way to say that without sounding naughty)

When the weather permits, I’m gonna try to take this baby outside and play with it more. Happy Sunday, everyone!

So this summer has had it’s share of pretty fun moments. Some boring as well, but I didn’t document any of the boring stuff so here is a post that I’ve documented of all the FUN!

Jimmy and I at a family friend’s place

Enjoyed a pool party with family and friends. And also, my sis-in-love Jax and her bf BJ came for a visit from Australia for a total of 6 days. Spending time with them was so lovely and parting was emotional since we don’t know when we’ll see them again, but all in all, such a blast.

dinner party with a bunch of families and friends

amazingly yummy desserts,

So now that Summer is slowing down and coming to an end, my hours at work are picking up. The end of summer will probably bring lots of changes for Jimmy and I. We are still patiently waiting, and at times even feeling a little antsy, but trying to make the most of it and cherishing our time, with each other and with family. We’ve been going on dates and hanging out with our friends often and it’s been so much fun! Jimmy’s 21st birthday is coming up in about a week and we will probably go out to dinner and order his first glass of wine :)

I just finished answering questions for another blog interview so I will be posting about that later. Blog interviews are way too much fun! Take care friends
