The first snow of 2012.

The first snow fall was back in October, but since we’ve been here, we’ve made a tradition out of playing outside, taking pictures, and shoveling together after the first snowfall of the year. Last year it was just the two of us and Layla, so it was fun bringing out the baby (bundled up, of course) and enjoying all the pretty white stuff. I can’t say we do this every time it snows, though. After a while shoveling is more of an, “Aw man, time to shovel” type of event. Auggie sat and stared around and made his silly little faces, then fell asleep. Next year will be our last winter here and I can’t wait to experience it with a curious little one year old!

Melanie - Great shots! I asked you this before, but could you please tell me where you got your yellow coat? Thanks.

lesley - such a sweet family! yellow looks good on you. 🙂

Victoria / Justice Pirate - That is great that August got to be all snuggly while you two worked at shoveling. I am sure in just a little while he’ll be learning how to make snowballs and running around with a sweet smile. I love how much space you guys have there. That is more of my type of place than having neighbors RIGHT next to us here. I know that you miss your home and all, but Alaska looks wonderful.

jhen.stark - Ah! Jealous! And I want to snuggle in there with Auggie! And that is all Jimmy wears to shovel?!?! He must be turning into an Alaskan!
