i chopped my hair off!

before:

and after!

here are some more:

^ new sunnies.

so what happened was, i won a free hair makeover through a raffle that was going on for all the employees of the mall i work at. i signed up for the raffle not knowing was it was for, only to get a call a few days later from the regis salon telling me that i won! i felt guilty because when i first found out, i didn’t even want to cut my hair or do anything to it. but i realized later that i’ve basically had long hair for a very long time now and i sort of felt like it was a comfort and security thing. i wanted to cut it off to prove that i can feel beautiful with short hair too. so i told them to cut it off, and i love it! my inspiration was ashley olsen and the lovely alexa chung,

i’m sure there will be times when i’ll miss my longer hair, but i’m loving this haircut so far and besides, my hair grows pretty fast anyway.

Anna Selezneva & Wes Bentley for Harper’s Bazaar US-March 2010

I usually gravitate towards shoots that tell a story anyway, but this one was special to me and gave me feelings of nostalgia. My grandpa used to ALWAYS have Bonnie and Clyde (Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty) on when I was over and I remember being so fascinated with it when I was a little girl. And when I look at this editorial it brings me back, but also makes me realize how inspiring it is-fashion wise. I definitely wouldn’t mind having more pencil skirts, silk scarves, and trousers. I already have a small collection of berets, but don’t wear them out too often. Maybe sometime soon I’ll try to rock one, Bonnie style.

And us

I tried to make this entry short but it ended up being long anyway. Hah, oh well. Anyway, these were taken a few weeks ago. It was such a fun day, we went out to celebrate Great grandma Hammer’s birthday. Jimmy and I actually have our one year wedding anniversary coming up and I’ve been thinking lately about how thankful I am for such an amazing husband and best friend but when I look at these photos I realize that I am also thankful for his amazing family that I married into. I have fallen in love with them and feel so blessed to be a part of the clan. God is so good. I just wanted to share the happiness of this day with the e-world ;)

This is what I wore to go out to breakfast (and dinner) with the family for Great-Grandma Hammers birthday. We all dressed up for this because we took family pictures afterwards (which i’ll be posting in my next entry) It was such a fun day and I ended up really liking my outfit so I decided to take some pictures!

This is probably one of the most comfortable shirts I own. I was hesitant to get it because as much as I love batwing shirts and cardigans, I was never sure if I could pull it off. So far though, I’m loving it and I’m completely comfortable in it. I like that it’s cropped, but not cropped to the point where it’s showing anything I don’t want shown. Next I’ll be on the hunt for a neutral colored striped batwing. The dress pants I got for days like these when I still wanted to look nice, but not put on a dress. It’s the perfect in between item of clothing I own for not too casual and not too dressy days. and my favorite part: The argyle socks are actually tights I was just wearing underneath! They served it’s purpose for keeping me warm as well. The brogues I’ve had for almost three years now, and they’re still going strong.

Stay tuned for family photos!
